V6 to V8 Conversion...
#4
true... however, there is alot more to it than just swapping motors. Not to mention if he ever tries to sell the car, the title will still read as a V6. Oh, and his ins will only recognize it as a V6....
so if its the experience he wants, sell, buy a V8, then mod it
to each his own though

Speaking from exerience, buy a wrecked v8 car and you will have everything you need,, preferably one that has been rear ended of course,, from looking at what you have already done to your car, you should have enough patience.! But nothing is as easy as it seems, not hard at all just VERY time CONSUMING!!!!!

K-member
Tranny(probably mounts)
ECU/Wiring Harness(ithink)
Rear end, the 7.5" rear will break.
exhaust manifolds and such ofc.
Not sure on brakes and front suspension.

Well thanks for the tips guys I wish I could just get another V8 its not that easy for me at the moment though. And I don't think I was clear enough when posting this I should have mentioned I already have the GT it has been wrecked though I was looking to get a V6 roller or just one with a blown motor and I was wondering how hard it would be to swap the guts basically, (I know it would be time consuming but I'm pretty sure I have the patience) I'm just not sure what all I would have to swap. I figured the rear end, didn't think about the k-member so thanks for that, I was just looking for answers to whether or not there would be major modifications needed b/c I've never really looked at a V6 engine bay, underneath, suspension, or anything. Hope this clears things up a little better on what I am looking to do.

well in that case then yeah go for it. find a sixxer with a blown motor and raddy interior (since yours can swap over too).
like mentioned:
-k member
-motor
-rear end
-swap the gt's tranny and driveshaft
-ECU/wiring harness
-the exhaust (you will also have to have an exhaust shop make some minor modifications to your GT exhaust since the v6 doesn't have cutouts in the bumper)
-radiator
-front suspension
like said insurance will only recognize it as a V6 which means cheaper insurance, but it also means they may or may not cover your "new car", or not completely cover it if you get in a wreck (unless you explain what you have and possibly pay extra for the "additional" coverage). you will need to call insurance to get the details on that (i.e. you have a GT driveline in there but if you wreck the car and the motor needs parts or the rear end gets shot, they may not pay to replace since it will be considered "aftermarket", or they may only pay what it would cost to replace a v6 rear end).
