But honestly, i don't think it will work. I think the GT caliper is larger for some reason and may give you rubbing problems, not to mention that the calipers have different shapes to accomodate the different sized rotors, but i also think that the 13" rotors are wider... So idk how you'll get the GT calipers over the rotor

The brakes aren't the same. Cobra calipers are actually manufactured by PBR. PBR has manufactured calipers for BAER, Chevrolet, Chrysler and were OEM on several sports cars throughout the years.

They are quick pad change compatible, where as the GT is not. To run the Cobra calipers, you will need the Cobra spindles as the mounting system is completely different. The PBR caliper is a floating caliper where as the GT is solid mount. That's why if you look at the M-2300-K kit (Cobra brake upgrade kit for 94-04 GT's) it comes with the appropriate Cobra spindles.

Where are you getting your info from?

You do not need cobra spindles... Cobra/bullitt/mach1 front and rear kits will fit on our GT's no problem and all cars from 94-04... It's all a direct swap... All we need are different mounting brackets essentially (and of course rotors, calipers, pads, etc)...

Our GT calipers are also made by PBR...

When I did a Cobra brake conversion on my 95 GT, it wouldn't fit without the 96+ spindles.

99-04 spindles are all the same GT or Cobra, so you only need the appropriate caliper mounting brackets and calipers...but thats a different part number from Ford. (Basically M-2300-K minus spindles.) M-2300-Q Includes Cobra master cylinder, M-2300-R doesn't.

Yeah, PBR does make the calipers for the GT as well around 50+ vehicles on the road today. That particular PBR was used in the sports car realm...Cobra, Corvette, etc.

Let me clarify a little:
M-2300-K kit is the ENTIRE brake kit (Front AND Rear) to upgrade GT to Cobra spec brakes. It includes everything...and I mean everything.

The spin-offs of this kit are more application specific...I.E. if you are upgrading an 03 GT to Cobra front's only, you don't need the "K" kit, you can get away with the "Q", "R", or "X" kits.

When I did my 95, I bought the "K" kit. When I set the spindles down, they looked similar, but the GT spindles looked smaller, may have been an optical illusion, but I put the new ones on anyways just to be safe.

To confirm my info, just look in a Ford Racing catalog.
