Default o/r x-pipe problems

my buddy just put the bassani x-pipe on his 02 saleen. we put the new MIL eliminators on to keep the check engine light from coming on so we know its not that. but yesterday his check engine light came on. we asked around for what it could be and one guy told us it was because he wasnt running converters and that there wasnt enough back pressure because of it. but IMO i think if that was the case wouldnt all these major exhaust companies have been sued or wouldnt there at least be warnings of this? responses would be greatly appreciated

You should have the code read to narrow it down some. You could have a leak, or just missed a little detail along the way.

Having the car scanned would help alot here. Double check your MIL elim connections and the front o2's as well and check for exhaust leaks.

Also, make sure your MIL eliminators are plugged in the two REAR 02 sensors. Many people buy 2 sets, not knowing that only the REAR needs them.

It seems as though the silly "backpressure" myth will never die--backpressure is never needed--on any engine...

I have a question about the sensors. I just put my o/r x on today and I haven't had a check engine come on at, which I figured it would for the back two sensors. Is this regular?
