DO NOT trust the Kenne Bell tune. I dont care what anyone else says on here! Thunders car got fudged by it and my friends Mach almost did! Get a dyno tune! With that said Kennebell makes a sick kit and your car will be a monster with the blower on

lol...i really don't know what to tell you other than the obvious. take out the old weak parts and toss in some new forged peices. not a cheap project.
thank you deputy dog. the pistons i believe are rated to 550hp, the rods are 475, and the block is good for more than anyone here will ever be pushing. crank has a lot of debate behind it but members swear they are good for 600+ hp. when i said the "stock block", i was referring to the internals, more specifically the rods but since you need specific clarification, then yes.

+1 I think in general on a totally stock car you are ok with the KB tune for a little bit. But what you really need to get is a dyno tune. I love KB and it is a fact that they poor tons of hours of testing into their tunes but they really dont know how your exact car is going to be running @ 40 degrees out WOT 10 states away a year down the road.

i put one on my 99 gt in december with the kenne bell tune. it made 408 hp and 456 torque. put it on with 105,000 miles, now have 110,000 plus with no trouble. i had a lean bank 2 code come up till i found a gas station with ethanol free fuel. the car runs great so far , i saw the thunderhorse video. i feel bad for the guy , that sucks about his car. hope i have better luck, my car has been well maintained . i bought it new in 99 , oil changed on time always. i hope i get a block forged and a new set of heads before it goes to save a mess but if not oh well. if you decide to do this its the chance you take, put it on and start saveing your money.

getting a forged bottom end is not that expensive as it is a in depth project.

Yes, i agree it is conservative. my friends mach had a 10.05 afr and got 100 miles to a tank on the KB tune. it also had driveability issues, like surging and jerking and all kinds of stuff. also on made 400rwhp on 9 psi on the KB tune. on a 11.4 afr and a little more timing it made 481rwhp. i probably went over board in my post but i'd never use a companies supplied tune unless i had a wideband and saw it was spot on

Kenne bells tune detonated under heavy load on my stock 2001. I was almost reluctant to get a dyno tune after reading the dozen papes KB sends with the kit. My tuner called KB and really got no help, KB insisted the tune was spot on. The upshot is I've been running my tuners tune going on 3 yrs.

btw GO HAWKS!!!!!!
