Clutch Chatter

Clutch Chatter
I just got done putting in a brand new clutch kit and FRPP nodular flywheel on my 96. I have been driving it for a few days now and I am noticing a little chatter in 1st when releasing the clutch. It is worse if I am downshifting into 2nd. I am sure I installed and torqued everything down and cleaned the flywheel and PP with brake cleaner.
Now I did notice while reinstalling the tranny that the mount is in pretty bad shape. Could that be causing the chatter? Anything else to check before pulling the trans again?
PS: I bought this car cheap with a fried clutch, so I never drove it in working condition before now.

The chatter might go away or decrease once the new clutch is broken in. Some clutch brands are known for being noisy as well. With my setup (mods in sig), a little bit of chatter getting into 1st and Reverse is just a way of life. If it's just making a little bit of noise (not crazy loud) and is functioning the way it should, I wouldn't bother with dropping the trans again. Not sure about the trans mount being the cause of the noise, but if it's bad then I'd replace it. The chattering sound you're hearing is most likely a product of the springs in the center of the clutch disc (I read that somewhere a long time ago, but don't recall the specific reason given as to why that is). Maybe somebody else would be kind enough to chime in and elaborate on that.....
