take spoiler off and have body shop weld in plugs and smooth it out.

search spoiler delete and you get plenty of threads of ppl using plastic plugs as a cheap way out.

Isn't the trunk lid made out of fiberglass?

I just used those small christmas tree plugs, aka interior plugs. I sanded them, painted them to match, used a small amount of silicon underneath and small pieces of hose to secure them. They work fine and look great. Many people don't notice them at all, other not until there close. Painting them to match makes a big difference.

I believe there were two Pony / V6 / KR spoilers for sale on this site. Search the classifieds for v6 spoiler, or you can buy a Ford one from partscheap.com for $200.

The trunk is metal. Nothing on the S197 is made of fiberglass, except for some of the heat insulation perhaps.

then you need to have a shop do it right, I had the same problem with the rings in the paint. I had mine off for a week then put it back on.

aren't we in the sn95 / New Edge forums? Both the hood and the rear decklid are made out of SMC plastic.
