Default 28 or 31 spline?

I have a 2000 gt with an auto trans and at the moment my ring and pinion need to be replaced (4.10's). I just bought the car a bit ago and it has most of the standard bolt-ons plus a stage 1 cam and drag radials. My question is should I upgrade to a 31 spline axle due to the drag radials? The car might get tracked maybe twice this summer if it's lucky. I also don't plan on keeping the car for much more than a year from now. I do like to get on the gas a lot, but if I'm not launching it hard all the time should the rear end survive the summer with the stock 28 spline? Thanks

I would not worry about it, especially if you are gonna sell it

I wouldn't worry about it with an auto and DRs, and besides, you are selling it soon.

Autos don't hit the tires as hard as manuals. You'll be fine with 28 spline.

Alright thanks for the responses. I'll just get new gears and let it be for now unless the shop finds out the diff is toast...
