yeah he did...post #3. its the same thing as the grease technique, but i've never heard it called that.

Mine was a PITA too, grease trick didn't work, slide hammer didn't work. Finally i got a piliot bearing puller but the jaws wouldnt fit untill i mangled out the inner race lol.

Took it for a drive and it shifts fine but it has a vibration that I think is coming from fly wheel area. What do you think ?

Could be...

Did you clean the crankshaft flange well before mounting the flywheel?

Did you torque the f/w mounting bolts correctly?

Were the locating dowels on the flywheel,l for the pressure plate assembly, straight and fully seated?

I took my time and even cleaned the back side of the flywheel. I torqued the bolts evenly to 60ft lbs.

Is the throw out bearing considered self centering. The reason I ask I have to pull the tranny out again and just in case I need to get a new one I anted to know?
