Question 98 Mustang Gt fuel problems ?

well i have been using the search threads and the how to, bt i havent found an answer to the question i have read here on MF that 98 gt were the worst models to come out with fuel problems...lol which sucks for me and as i imagine for many others I know that lizzyfan went the 97 fuel tank route.

My question is if anyone has ever tried to swap out just the supply fuel line from the tank all the way to the fuel rail ? I have the 255lph bbk fuel pump

I have the edelbrock fuel rails and i was thinking on using a 6an line all the way to my fuel rails do you guys think its worth the try ? rite now im sitting at 440hp and 380tq

Thanks any inputs appreciated...

The way I understand it (and this could... and very well may be wrong) that year has a return line but it uses are return-less pump. If this is true you can not just swap tanks and call it a day. You would need to alter the tune and rewire the FPDM

If you can find a fitting to adapt to the factory feed off the hat to an AN, then it would work, but I doubt that pump and hat setup will support much more hp. My experience with a stock 98 tank and 255lph pump seemed like it was sucking the basket dry on a long pull in 3rd. I could watch the fuel pressure guage and it would drop a good 10-15psi all of a sudden. I would just save and upgrade the whole setup.

I hear this from a lot of people, sucking the basket dry that is. I have never once experienced this with my car even on the track. I wonder if the basket differs from year to year?
