03 cobra engine swap
 

hey i have a 2000 GT i have an intake on it and before i start putting anything into it i was wondering how much it would cost and what would be needed to put an 03 cobra engine in my GT.

You will need the engine, tranny (T56) the upper wiring harness, ECU wiring harness, ECU, new midpipe, and a good tune. Im sure there is a lot I missed but thats the basics.

Just save yourself the trouble and buy a cobra.

Actually, engine swaps arent hard at all if you are the least mechanically inclined. It really isnt as hard as people make it out to be. It just looks and sounds like a horrible job to do but people get paid everyday for these types of services. Ive done a 2V swap and it really is not difficult at all. It just takes some time and if you have the right engine sling and lift you can remove and reinstall the old and new motor in one day. While the old engine is out, you can swap the wiring harnesses and the hard work is done. The worst part after the engine install would be the fuel pump and thats just dropping the gas tank.

I'm going to second jdaniels last statement. The engine may look intimidating at first, but swapping them out is fairly simple.

i am planning on getting a twin turbo system for my mustang i want around 600hp to the wheels, what would i need to build up my engine to withstand all the power and would it be easeier and cheaper then dropping in an 03 cobra engine?
