Up to 2 inches, the stock shocks and struts are fine. BUT, you need bumpsteer kit. Steeda states that you need them if you use the ball joints. Or, C&C plates. Or, offset rack bushings. You gotta do something for the steering geometry or get used to buying new tires.

Good luck.

You can get the offset rack bushing for about $45 from Ford (et al) and install them yourself with a jack and stands. I would budget two hours, since you've never done it. Neither have I, but my buddy is helping me do it on the 27th.

As for tire wear, the inside edges will take the brunt of it. You should be okay on the short term, but I'd do it as quickly as possible. Not only will the tires wear, but hitting bumps can cause your front to hop around a little ergo, 'bumpsteer'.

Good luck. I'll post my results with the offsets after we get them done on the 27th. I think you can wait that long safely, if you want. It looks to be straight forward and simple.
