Default Fox Body Shocks on New Edge

I am looking into some new shocks and struts for my 03 Gt. I was told that I should use Foxbody ones, since my car is lowered, for a better ride quality. I just wanted to see everyone else's thoughts on this. Is it ok to use them on my car?

been researching it myself for the past couple months, if you go 2" or lower than stock, then yes, foxbody struts can be better for wheel travel, so you dont bottom out (cause strut to compress fully) BUT also from what i've gathered is that you'll run the risk of having the wheel pushing too far into the wheel well.

I put fox body struts and shocks on my 03 after lowering it 1 inch. The front struts are a little shorter than stock and the rears were the same length. I've been happy with them they are a softer ride then a performance shock.

@jojo2003,
are you talking stock or aftermarket fox struts?
from what i gather, unless your going all out with coilovers and a huge drop, like to the point of the wheel is like flush with the wheel well, i wouldnt bother - even then you'd prolly be better off with aftermarket adjustable struts.

how much of a drop do you have with your springs? i guess the cheap route could be to get some fox struts. but it depends on your application. if your DD'ing it, a set of lakewoods is rather cheap(albeit non-adjustable). i dont know the price of stock fox struts (new) off the top of my head, but i'd have to say that the lakewoods are prolly a better option since they're new. another option is tokico's.

main thing is, ask yourself, what do you really want to do with your car? drag, street, street/strip? maybe a bit of auto-x? then research what you would need for that specific application to get to where you want to be.

Well, it is basically a dd, and a fun ride. I was just looking for something to make the ride better. It is a little rough right now to me. I am pretty sure I have C springs on it now, and I have right about 3 fingers in between the tire and fender. I would like to get a decent ride with a little more drop on it. I already have the cc plates, and I have some steeda ultra light springs that I want to put on. So I was just really looking, at my different options, and I was told to look at foxbody shocks, and like 93 Cobra shocks.

just get some cheap lakewoods or tokico's. with stock style suspension/springs, you wont be able to go low enough that i know of to need shorter struts/shocks. unless you go coilovers or end up cutting rediculous amounts of coils off the springs to lower it, i dont know anyone that makes a 2" drop spring. the lowest i've heard is 1.75" up front with some H&R super sports. those steeda springs you have will only give you maybe an 1" or 1.25" drop.
