Default What is the proper name of this part???

so the strut that runs horizontaly on my 03 gt on the rear, which attatches my frame to my axle is leaking badly and making a clunking noise, so i called orilleys, autozone, and carquest to buy 2 new ones and neither of them had a clue. so they wanted me to call ford to get the exact name of the part.

03... DON'T buy new quads

Get some LCA's with at LEAST one spherical end and replace those. Then you can remove the quads completely

Just better in general for improvement of the handling characteristics of your ride.

The quads contribute to the funky movement of the Mustang 4-link rear suspension and are were OEM due to wheel hop issues they help to reduce. Installing a good aftermarket LCA that lacks flexablility of the existing ones, will eliminate the need for the quads and be benificial in several ways. Just be sure to AVOID a poly/poly ended LCA, or UCA for that matter, due to the severe binding issues that ensue and damage that will likely result.

Poly/poly boxed UCA's:

See The Official Suspension Guide for better details and description of this issue and why it is so important to avoid these types of control arms.
