You are trying to hold the throttle to keep the car at 1000rpms or you have the idle set to 1000rpms using a programmer? Either way I do not have an answer for you, I am just curious

it also seems like it "boggs" down briefly at the top of 3rd gear. wonder if this is a result from the hose

Hopefully this will fix my weird random rumbling noise when idling
after you install it check the elbow at the pvc valve, I guarantee it will be sucked shut.

If that's the case then I'll probably end up making a copper line like you did. Have you noticed any ill effects after putting it on? Might be a dumb question but copper doesn't have any bad reactions to oil does it? I'm assuming you used a 1/2" copper elbow to connect to the pcv valve as well?

no ill effects at all, the oil that comes out my pvc goes into the oil catch, it ran smoother, more noticeable at idle.

btw. I used the 1/2" copper elbow and fitted it over the pvc nipple. I attached a heavy 1" tubing over the elbow and clamped it then clamped the other end of the nipple. If you look on the side of the valve cover you will see oil seeping down so slowly, I thought I would have to change the valve cover, a job I dreaded bigtime. It took me a couple of yrs to realize it was coming from the pvc. now its bone dry.
