Well replaced the fuel filter and it "seemed" like it wasn't acting as badly as before. However the problem is still there and now getting more frequent it seems. Also I am starting to notice that taking off from a stop, it seems to hesitate until I start rolling. So what is my next step to track this problem down?

How many miles on the plugs, what type are they (precious metal or conventional nickel chrome), are the COP boots the originals?

Have you pulled the plugs and had a good look at them, if not do so. While the COPs are off look for signs of hardening and/or cracks and arcing on the boots.

I believe the plugs have about 30K on them now. I replaced them with platnium plugs because I don't like to replace plugs too often due to the threading issues. I replaced all the boots at the time I replaced the plugs since some were cracked.

I haven't pulled the plugs since I figured they were new enough that they shouldn't be the problem. Thought there might be something easier to check on before pulling plugs.

My friend says that my cats may be plugged but I don't know if my symptoms reflect that happening.
