All 4.6's stock for stock against a 5.0 will win. They have more stock HP. The 5.0 guy is saying let it go because he doesnt want to be told that his car is slower. HAHA

Wow, I cant believe that stuff. So we are all Called NEW Edge? Whats that about. Just cuz we dont want to ride around in a 35 year old car all the time, now were the bad guys? 4.6 is just faster and i thought everyone knew that.

I like the 5.0 better. I think the 4.6 is a great motor though. Ive owend a 4.6 GT, and my wife has a 2002 GT 5-speed. When I was looking for Cobra's, I was actually looking for the DOHC 4.6's. Once I drove the 5.0 Cobra I didnt look back. I bought it right there on the spot, after driving about 5 or 6 DOHC's. When I owned my 4.6 I thought 5.0's were junk, never even thought about them. My opinion changed after driving my 5.0 Cobra. Thats all just my opinion though. Sorry for being a little off-topic.

EDIT: My wifes 02 GT is a beast, dont think I'm knocking the 4.6's at all because I love the motors. I guess I'm just a pushrod guy .

nobody starting knocking anything until that biatch called me new edge like he owned the place. I dunno wtf the new edge thing is about. of course, his 5.0 with gears and drag radials can hang with an ls1, and everybody knows a 4.6gt gets killed by an ls1, so his 5.0 is clearly faster. I can handle them saying the 5.0 will hang with a 4.6, but then they say a 5.0 will hang with an ls1 and that's just nuts.

i persoanlly have always thought the 5.0 was a "more american' motor, few more cubes, tourquier, more nastalgic <--sp?, especially since 302's have been around since the 60's

however, 4.6's are a bit more technilogical, more friendly for daily driving, and i assume they get bettter gas milage... (correct me if im wrong on any of those)

times change, as technoligy improves, Ford is obviously doing what it feels necessary to make a better car...

as for the whole stock vs stock thing,, i have never heard of a 79-93 5.0 taking out a 99-04 4.6

maybe, in some cases of driver error, sure it can happen, but when someone asks stock vs. stock, i would assume they mean fairly equal drivers.. (if that werent the case, ANYTHING could beat ANYTHING... yea, umm, i stalled out my f40 ferrarie and got beat by my moms minivan) come on, please be willing to negotiate or something
