checkin out a 98 gt, please help me out
i am going to check out a 98 gt convertible with 50,000 miles on it within the next 2 days. they are asking 8,500 for it and the owner owns his own garage. he says he has a performance clutch on it which concerns me. i asked if the original clutch was bad and he said no, he just wanted a performance clutch but the car really doent have much done to it but exhaust so would it make sense to change the clutch unless if it was bad. i was also wondering what type of things i should look at or make sure are good before buying the car. hopefully my dads friend who works for ford is gonna come with me but if he doesnt im gonna be on my own.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY ADVISE ANYONE GIVES ME. THE LITTLEST BIT WILL HELP

yeah definetly go with a 99+ for that price, new clutch means he probably messed up the old one (obviously) and you arent gonna wanna deal with the headache of a pi swap decision or the cracked manifold that 96-98s are prone to have. and get a coupe!

yeah i decided not to look at that car. i found out how slow they are. the one problem with the 99 and newer is that i really dont like that body style. what do you think about 96-98 cobras because i think thats what im gonna set my mind on

The 97's insurance is less. People want to pay more.
Less likely to wrap it around a tree or into a wall. People need thrills.
Less likely to go 130 mph on a crowded highway. Again the thrill thing.

96-98 cobra for the win.
Yes, your 97 is slow, however, my 98 is not... Oh wait, yes it is, just not as slow
