Dropping the k member is indeed the easiest way to do it, some people get by doing them on 2vs with just jacking the motor but its a PITA.

Is your car dropped any? If so, you might want to rethink the LT's... I have shorties and it was a bi*** to put them on. Good luck tho man..

girlfriend has shorties on her 98gt and that thing is lowered to the ground. one of those anti speed bump cars. but anyway, she does not have any hitting problems with the headers or mid pipe. just the trans hits on speed bumps i think. she paid to have hers done. cost her 400 bucks and they lowered the k member im pretty sure.

Well Getting the K-member off is a bit of a PITA. you have to take off tires, Calipers, and springs. It is best to take it to a shop to make sure everything is correct because, removing everything can really through off your alignment. Not to mention you will need a Spring compressor.

If you are mechanically inclined dropping the k member is a very easy procedure. But an engine support bar from harborfreight to suspend the motor and its just a matter of removing the steering shaft, struts, springs, tie rods, and calipers and u can drop the stock k frame with the a arms and spindles still attached. And i didnt need a spring compressor just put a jack under the a arm and slowly lowered it till i can pull the spring out. It took me about 2 hours to drop my k frame (with air tools).

i just installed my long tubes and didnt drop the k member my car is so low my stock exhaust was scraping lol but it is a hard job took 2 days but we broke a stud and had other small issues you will need patience and a friend to help i have mac long tubes mac h pipe and slp bullets and its the loudest stang i have heard in a while feel free to pm me or ask any me any questions. I would not pay 400-500 to have them put in its not impossible to do just a tight fit for ur hands and tools im still all cut up lol its been a week since i have done it. I also reused the factory gaskets and studs and bolts and i have no leaks and u can just extend the wires on ur o2 sensors and not have to buy extensions
