Default motor swap maybe?

i just acquired a 98 mustang 3.8 lt. i want to change it to a 4.6 but need some input on what im going to have to change with the motor. i think it has the t-5 tranny ( its a 5 speed ) some one told me it would bolt right up. the other concern i have does it have to be a mustang 4.6 or can i use anyone like out of a police car or Lincon are all the electrical plugs the same. any suggestions would be welcome

you will have to swap out the motor, ecu and wiring harness, your rear end (the 7.5 isnt strong enuff unless you forged it), and i think the bellhousing on the tranny. you will also need stronger front springs, maybe the GT radiator, etc...

there is a LOT involved. it typically is not worth the swap unless you can find a donor car (a wrecked mustang GT which still has all or atleast most of the above parts salvagable)

a 5.4 is a stroked 4.6 essentially. i wouldnt stroke a 5.4L if there even is an option for it.

you are now going from a cheap under 1000$ 4.6 motor to well over 5,000$

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I beleive the 3.8 k-member will work when dropping in a 5.0, but don't you need a k-member out of a 4.6 vehicle to convert a 3.8 over to a mod motor?
