Are the 96-04 exhaust system setups the same. I see adds for x pipes for 99-04 models, but I thought they would fit 96-04 models. Is there any difference from 96-98 compared to 99-04 models. I know the body is different but the engines should be the same except the different heads and intake manifold. A friend of mine was wanting to get a upr x pipe for his 1996 mustang gt off of craigslist. The x-pipe is listed for 99-04, my friend asked me if it would fit his 96. Im honestly not 100% sure. I think they would. But if anyone can solidify a answer that'd be awesome.

The exhaust will bolt up but i beleive the hanger location is slightly different.
