Complete crap.

99% of all super cheap intakes are aluminum and are for show. This goes especially for MAC and all it's cheap imitations.

Look into something such as Densecharger. This type of intake is fenderwell mounted and completely plastic to avoid heat.

truthfully i think the ebay ones are better than stock for pulling in air, but they have a tendency to get very hot even being able to touch them.. like quickshift said get a densecharger.. theres not going to be more than 5hp either way though.. [&:]

yes definatley do not get an alum one they get piping hot and obviously thats a nono! I have a densecharger and i think it work real well compared to some other aftermarket intakes my friends got off ebay. Trust me spend the money do it right.

I made that mistake several months ago. First, they are exactly what they seem to be - cheap. The small tubes on the MAF to TB pipe were in a bad place and I had to bend one to clear the oil filler cap. That MAF to TB tube was cut about 1/2 to 3/4 shorter than needed. I managed to make it work, but I came apart on me once. The filter seems nice and all, but it's really fairly small and a SOB to service. Finally, tubes with multiple turns before the MAF cause turbulent airflow, and can throw off the readings.

Spend the money and buy quality. I replaced my ebay special with a Steeda (from ebay). The filter is a huge 9" and I notice a big difference.

Whatever you buy, stay away from MAC. It may look good, but the quality is just not there most times. I had their UDPs and, as you can see in my sig, I dumped those. They cause a MIL and misfires.

Good luck.

If you buy one, have fun buying a new MAF.
