HELP! Ignition switch won't turn...
Well I took the car out today and got some things at the grocery store, came back, shut it off. About 5 mins later I went out to give my little brothers friend a ride home. I got in the car and put the key in, but the ignition switch won't budge. It's like its locked. I need to make a trip out of town tomorrow to sell a different car and really need this fixed.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Note: It's a 1997 Mustang GT with a 5 speed an 84,xxx miles.
I have tried tons of things, including turning the wheel and lifting it up and down.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

yea the column is just locked in place from what it sounds like dont be afraid to turn the steering wheel hard to the left or right while trying to turn the key to get it to unlock, its happened to me before and you just have to put a little force into it

Dont try to force the steering wheel to one side and turn it... you have to jiggle the wheel to either side and you try to turn the key. It will free up once you hit the sweet spot.
