Default A/C not blowing cool air

This just started yesterday. A/C stopped putting out cool air on the way home. A few hours later still no a/c when I tried again, just blowing air. This a.m. I get in the car and the cool a/c is back, lol... 5 minutes later no cool a/c, then cool a/c the rest of the way to work.. I am going to search the archives, but where do I even start diagnosing this? Maybe a loose electrical connection? Or is this symptoms for no freon, or?

Hmm, something is going on ... there was some noise under the hood, as in the belts squeaking, and when I put water on it, they stopped, so looks like I have to check the pulleys or belt... there was burnt smell... A/C worked fine this am to work, at lunch time, after work, then tonight, it stopped working again..

Wow, i keep getting stuck behind cliffy on the posts. AC can be really tricky, but not usually on our cars..... I don't really understand your post, but im assuming that once again cliffy is right. Have you tried to recharge your system (adding refrigerant)? If so and its still not working, have someone sit in the car and turn on and then off the AC at controlled intervals. At the same time you should be visually watching the compressor to see if the clutch is engaging. If it is, is it staying engaged for a short or long period of time? Let us know the answers to these questions and anything else you see as issues with your problems that you might of left out of your post. good luck, hope i can help in the future

I am going to be traveling the next two weeks, so I'll be looking at it then and report back, thanks for the help. I am dreading having to drive today and Monday to work living in South Florida and the f'n hot humidity, lol...

If it would be the freon, wouldn't it just stop cooling or progressively cool less? That's not the case here, One minute it's shooting it's normal cold air blast, then just starts shooting room temp air...next morning, cold a/c again, arghhhh...

I'll let you guys know when I get back.

No, it would behave exactly as you describe; ambient temperature tremendously affects the refrigeration cycle.

Stop by any FLAPS, buy a recharge kit and add a can of refrigerant according to the instructions--unless you have some enormous leak, which I don't suspect you do, you'll be back in business.
