Fuel line question

Fuel line question
Had a question and wondering if someone can shed some light for me. If I understand correctly, the 99-04 Gt's use a returnless style fuel system, so I'm wondering what the second, fatter fuel line that runs along side the feed line is. Thinking maybe some type of vent line for the evap canister? If so, can I plug it and run without it? I currently have the canister off and would rather not go through the hassle of re-installing it if at all possible. Car in question is an '02 GT, manual btw. thanks

Seems like it maybe a vent from the tank to te evap canister canister instead of the other way around, can anyone confirm? Also does anyone know if there would be adverse effects from deleting the evap unit while leaving the vent line in besides the obvious gas vapor smell?

having that vaporous gas smell is a bad thing, its more flamable than a bucket of liquid gas. deleting that evap can will deffently throw a code. ive heard that system helps on start ups but not sure. i'll see what i can find

No need to PM Ox is here.
Ok the big line that runs with the fuel and brake lines is the vent to the charcoal canister. To completely remove the evap system you have to remove all parts in the passenger side fender and driver side quarter panel along with all lines sensors in the trunk (the 2 blue things) and get the car retuned. Once those are removed the tank needs to be modified with a new vent system. If fresh air can't get in and air can't escape you will have major problems like not being able to fill the tank, fuel getting super heated, fuel pump failing, low fuel pressure leading to blown engines. Just taking some of the parts out will not work and you will start getting the problems I listed. My advice is to put the canister back in the car. There is no benefit to deleting the evap unless you had to make room like I did.
