Default Help.. Problem with top end

I have an 04 GT. I have had the car to 140 a few times with no problems. The other day I topped fourth out and went to overdrive at about 120 and the car wouldnt pull at all. Sounded like it was lugging out.

Well today, same issue. Except now I cant even top fourth gear out. It wouldnt even go past 47000 rpm. Just sounded like it was lugging out again so i went to 5th and same thing there.

What could be wrong with my car? Its basically stock with 3.27 gears

Oh and I have no problems really with the car. No weird sounds, runs fine. Even runs fine in all gears. Except for what was just mentioned. I can be doin 70 in overdrive and give it gas and gain all the speed I want. Except for top end, which it use to do easy

no check engine light either.. Its really bothering me. I havent had the car but a month and a half and Im hoping its nothing major. I just had rear end barrings replaced. It worked fine before then. Idk if that could have anything to do with it

IDK, asking for 47k rpm is a pretty tall order...

But seriously, how many miles on the car?
What do the plugs look like?
What does the air filter look like?

Have you data logged any of the performance related PIDs (fuel pressure, MAF, timing, etc.).

The car has 52xxx miles on it. Just changed plugs and stuff a month ago. Air filter is clean, checked it today. Normally the car would pull hard up to 5500 rpm tho and now wont even pull past 4700.

Havent data logged anything. I havent really done anything other than drive the car. I think the previous owner had it tuned or a programmer put on.

What octane fuel are you running?

If the PO loaded a tune optimised for premium fuel, and you are running something less, it could behave as you describe--and if you do not have a clear understanding of what pinging sounds like you may be flirting with damaging the engine by pushing it...

Ive been running 87 octance. I ran 93 for a little while but was getting worse gas mileage. Didnt notice any difference in the way it ran. But never even topped it out on 93.

I dont hear any abnormal sounds. The lugging sounds just like I said, there is nothing out of the ordinary. Bout like my 4 banger s10 when I shift to early and it lugs lol

The type of fuel you run will change the way it performs.
