saved me man! took it off and there was so much dirt and dust in that thing landed all over the floor, but it looks pretty good no rusting, looks like it might have just started to discolor so should i put anything on it or leave it as is now? thanks!

I gave mine a shot of Loctite Extend, this is good stuff I have used for over 20 years to protect anything that wants to rust...

I have a 99 so does this mean I have nothing to worry about? I'll check tomorrow anyway. It's just weird that it's from 2000 to 04.

Got one question, when I put the filler tube back in the tank should I slide the seal over the tube past the check valve 1st and then put in the tank or put the seal in the tank and then put the filler tube in, I am planning on just dropping the tank just enough to get this in, not going to drop tank out of car completely. Thanks Steve

I take it you already did this since the question was 3 months old. But you have to put the seal in the tank, then put the filler tube in.. I would use a little oil, makes it slide in a little easier..

I sent a complaint to the government, apparently it takes many complaints for them to do something about it.

Mine is leaking more out than gets in. Called the Ford dealership and they want $267!!!! Since I live on the edge of the earth, I dont have anywhere else to go thats even remotely close. I will check ebay, hopefully they arent all gone. I will file a complaint right away.
