Default constant control relay module (non operational fan)

Hello to group. Yesterday on the way home sitting in traffic car started boiling water. steaming out through the overflow reservoir cap, only a lil till i let the cap open a tad. pulled over let it cool and spew coolant for 30 min or so. when i first popped the hood the fan was not running. though i didnt let it continue to run long. after i got it home i checked the fan again, still it was not running. untill i got to work today, driving the heep, i did some research. though i do need to go home tonight and do some testing for other scenarios. i read about the CCRM. thought....well ill check on the price just to see. i was told that they were only used in the DOHC application? huh? yep thats what he said. this was info from a local ford parts deparment. just to make sure im following the right trouble shooting procedure. is there a CCRM in a 2003 SOHC 281?

Yes, you have a CCRM. Check your cooling fan fuse, there should be fuse diagrams all over the internet.

If your fuse is good, check the connector at the fan motor with a voltmeter if you have one, with the engine hot.
