Default Starter issue

I have a 2000 gt and have a quick question about starter issue. My car has had problems where when I turn the key, it would completely lose power. Then the next day it randomly started working again. I had my battery checked and alternator checked and they are both good and fairly new. This started a couple of months ago and one day it just stopped and worked fine for 2 months. Now the issue came up again and now it also just clicks sometimes instead of completely losing power. My question is if a bad starter or solenoid could be causing this.
Thanks

sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Check your battery connections/wires make sure the clean and tight. A loose negative terminal will do that. It could be the connections at the starter or the main battery grounds (i believe there are 2 or 3). Its probably not the starter or solenoid. If you disconnect the battery and reconnect it does the car start after it dies? Good luck electrical issues can be super frustrating.

Yes, it actually does work if I disconnect and re connect the batt after it completely dies. But sometimes it just clicks once and doesnt die and the battery disconnect does not work.

Check your grounds and connections. When i first got my car back with my first motor from the idiot who did it he didnt hook the ground up on the k member. We put it up on my uncles lift and as soon as we put a nut on the connection and tightened it down it started right up everytime. Before that i had the same problem you did. It just randomly wouldnt work. He first told me it was because of where it sat by the lts and it was overheating the starter which i knew was bs because i had the lts before he put the other motor in and had no problems whatsoever.

Agreed with top two post. Disconnect the battery and check the connection on the starter itself make sure theyre on real tight
