Default 96 cobra cooling issue

Ok so my 96 cobra run warm like on the a in normal. I found out that ford had a recall on the cooling system or something like that in the past. also heard about a manual fan mod??? Will a bigger radiator and 160 degree thermo help or fix it and will this thro my car in open loop?? Also does anyone have a pic of the black plastic part that gets removed from over the radiator? And what exactly changes about the AC condencer that helps? Did I miss anything?

If its within the normal range of the stock gauge it's obviously good for ford. Why worry about it? Temporarily put a mechanical temp gauge on it and see where it actually is. Last thread about this there was a guy on here with a 4v swap that was saying the 4vs always run hotter than the 2vs.

There has to be a reason for it to be getting hot. My gauge never moves past the middle...and thats only on the hottest of days. Is your fan working?

I may be wrong on this but arnt the temp gauges that Ford uses dummy gauges? I know in the past when I've modded my cars that was one of the first things I would do. (Every car I've had has had heating problems). I've not played with the 4.6 as much (i'm a 302 kinda guy) but I know the 160 did keep things as cool as a 180 did for me at least. Just my 2 cents

Could very well be. I've not messed with cars for going on like 3 years now so I'm a little rusty. I do however know that the stock gauges ford puts in suck

my 2v used to run at 210-220. i swapped in a 4v and now it runs at 180 no matter how hot the weather is. just throwin that out there.

There is no way u need to replace the radiator unless its leaking. A 160 thermostat would help keep you cooler. Make sure ur fan is working properly, mean it has all the blades and that there isn't u bunch of dirt and what not blocking the air flow through the radiator. Are u saying the running the A/C helps bring down the temp? cuz i should raise the temp some do to more load on the engine which is especially notable idling in traffic. Last thought, if your coolant hasn't been drained and flushed recently you may want to see if that helps.
