Default Gasket: Oil Filter Mount to Engine Block

I got the gasket a few months back and have been putting it off.

Tomorrow is my first day off in a few weeks so I'm thinking about replacing it tomorrow.

Anyone had to do this before?
How long might it take?
Even a quick write up?

I know I have to drain the oil and remove the radiator lines. Anything else?

I'm not sure if its the same on the 2v and 4v, but when my oil cooler started to leak on my car when I was doing my SC install ford told me there was no replacement gasket for it and I had to buy a new unit with a pre-installed o-ring type seal. But if you replacing it all you really need to do is drain the coolant no need to drain the oil because the majority of it is sitting in the pan.

Its easy . Drain the oil clean out the the housing and the block slap the new gasket on it and torque it down. I believe its about 22 ft lbs.

Mine was leaking like my Golden Retriever after being in the house all day - Ford sells the o-ring and gasket kit. Don't know the part number - my friend who worked at a dealer at the time picked it up for me.

Am I missing something here? The very first line of the OP's message is:

"I got the gasket a few months back and have been putting it off."

Also, you need to drain the coolant as well (and can get by without draining the oil if the car has been sitting for several hours/overnight)--the bolts should be torqued to 18lb/ft per the shop manual...

Thanks, I did it yesterday. Wasn't hard at all bu I'm worried it wasn't the source of the leak because the gasket appeared fine.
