Default All you fuel gurus please come in

Well, my motor should be in the car within the next few weeks so my next step is an adequate fuel setup.

I know everybody has their own input on which fuel route to go, but I do already have return set so thats a plus

I was originally going to go with the glennsperformance 1000 hp kit:
http://www.glennsperformance.com/pro...products_id=61

I want a fuel setup that can support 700rwhp

All I have as of right now are Edelbrock fuel rails and 60# injectors

I pretty much was planning on going with just about everything in that kit:
2 walbro pumps
aero fpr
sumped tank
8 feed line
6 return
y block
fuel filter

My question is, do you guys think that I can part this stuff together on my own for cheaper than a $1400 kit, just seems super expensive and it doesnt seem like guys spend near that for fuel systems to support a 600rwhp car

When I finish my new motor build I plan on getting the aeromotive A100 kit complete with the weld in sump. Its pricey but its peice of mind that you have everything you need to run the fuel system and its top notch quality.

yeah I'm all for spending money on fuel to support higher horsepower applications, just really never realized it was almost $2000 all said and done. I just didnt know guys with 600rwhp cars if they bought stuff seperatly say from summit and happend to put together a fuel system which included the same stuff as the kit for a cheaper price or if it really is worth just getting the gp kit

look around on the forums and see if someone has a system that they have from a project they never finished.

To be honest, all those a/n swivel fittings add up quick. It's probably worth paying for that kit then buying it separate, even though you can sit down and plan out what fittings you will need I've always overlooked something and had to wait and pay another shipping charge. I've got just under $2000 in my fuel system, and I boughy my tank and injectors used.

yeah it really does seem like just buying the kit may be the way to go. I ran it by a buddy of mine who is helping me build the motor and going to be helping me install the fuel and he said he would expect to pay that even when parting it out, so i may as well just call up GP when the time comes to get everything put together

thanks for the input fellas

im piecing mine together. gotta watch the forums, craigslist and ebay for deals. I got a dual cobra pump setup with the pumps upgraded to svt focus fumps for a hell of a deal and it saved me about $500. Got some used injectors from some guy for $20 that work great. Got my edelbrock intake manifold and fuel rails on ebay for under $200 shipped. Just be patient and you can find the deals. Now all I need are some push loc fittings, -8 fuel line and a new plenum and ill have setup that will handle 600whp no problem.

but add in fuel filter, fpr, a sumped tank and you are in the same ball park as a $1400 kit

not really. i know mine is not the norm but i only have
35 in the fuel pump system
20 in the rails
150 in push-loc lines and fittings
100 for an aeromotive filter (if i cant get a deal on a used one)

Comes out to $355.

I wont need a sumped tank or regulator. I will be able to use the stock fprs and the cobra puimp setup drops in place of my gt pump setup. The intake manifold and plenum im getting are extra that i dont have to have I just want them because the power band of the intake matches my cams a lot better than a stock intake, and the extra flow capability is nice too.
