wet sump or dry sump?

Default wet sump and dry sump

what is the difference between the two? what does the stock gt have and is it transferable to a 5.4 aluminum block if any at all?

You're car is a wet sump oiling system, I'm not 100% sure but I beleive the only newer car that had a dry sump system was the Ford GT. I'm not up to date on information on 05+ Mustangs.

there is no need for you to get a dry sump block. Most super cars are dry sump this is done usually to lower the engine in the engine bay
A dry system has no oil pan and oil is stored in a container off the engine
