anyone got an aftermarket cd player with mach system?

so i tried burning a few cd's today and wouldn't ya know it the stock cd player wont read them, so i tried putting them in the aftermarket radio that i have in my 95 and they read fine. so i tried putting the radio out of the '95 into the '00 tonight, went and got one of the wiring adapters for a 94-up ford with premium sound(mach 460). well none of the connectors matched up on the harness other than the power wires. anyone else ever put an aftermarket radio in their stang? if so which harness did you use? thanks a lot!

Mine had two harnesses; the main harness powers the tweeters only, and a second small harness that only had two or four wires as I recall that powers the other speakers. It's been a couple years since the install, but I think the way I wired it on the new head unit was that I had the front channels going to the main harness and rear channels going to the small harness. Hope that helps.

did you have the stock system that had the radio and cd player seperate? i had 3 connectors on the radio and 2 on the cd player, but the only connector out of those 5 that would fit into the harness in any way was the power connector.

hey man I just replaced my MACH1000 head unit and put a double din dvd/mp3 clarion head unit. Works GREAT with the stock system. The one problem though, is that you need a special harness which cannot be found at a best buy or any other large electronics store.

I had the same problem... then i went back to the store (wal-mart) and i looked at another one, same exact company/case 94+ premium system for the 460 and it had a connector the first one i bought didn't.... same exact fcking thing. Ended up fitting perfectly, i got 2 random wires up near the radio/power control of the old headunit taped up not hooked to anything and whatever was hooked up to the CD player taped.

for the gap where the bottom CD player is i took a piece of wood painted it black and glued it to the center bezel hahaha it doesn't even look ghetto... temp untill i get a 3 guage cluster.

Get something with an aux input for ipod ftw, i got a new headunit because mine stopped reading CDs too.

I had a shop install my alpine head unit, didnt feel like dealing with the headache. I swapped the cd player for a pocket.

You swapped your cd player for a pocketbook?

mach system plus aftermarket cd player = fail. Even if you use the correct harness/connector, it will still sound like sh1t.
