Default Clutch T/O bearing, Clutch cable ?'s

Just looked under my 96 Gt trying to figure out a problem and noticed that their is no slack whatsoever in the clutch cable/clutch rod and has the T/O bearing pressed against the P/P with a fair amout of force. Shouldnt it have a slight bit of slack in it?

How much free play is in the clutch pedal? There should be 1" to 1¼" of movement when you press on the pedal with your hand--and before you feel the TOB start to deflect the clutch spring fingers...
