Take about 300-400 dollars out of your wallet, and wipe you *** with em. That will give you about the same feeling as shortie headers on a 4.6.

I have seen dynos of SUPERCHARGED 4.6Ls only gaining 5-8 RWHP with shortie headers, compared to my gains of 15-20 RWHP on a N/A engine.

Shorties suck!!

T/B and plenum.I went with the 75mm from Accufab.Don't waste money on shorties, wait untill you can afford long tubes. They don't cost any more to install and if you do it yourself it will still be a major PITA.The hard part starts when you remove the old manifolds and ends when you get the new headers in without leaks.

I hate to say it, but I highly doubt you will be able to feel the "seat of the pants" differnce in the T/B and plenum either. Gains of 8-10 RWHP are pretty typical, and that is on a car with headers/exaust already installed.

Save the cash for LTs. Better yet, since you already have a X and will have to replace it if you get LTs, get some gears. By far the best bang for your buck with your current setup. Get gears and either a programmer, custom tune, or one of the 100 dollar black boxes to fix the speedo.

Car will be far faster than any of the other mods (LTs, shorties, or the intake stuff).

I agree. The cost/power gain ratio here is horrible and you wont feel a difference with a plenum and/or TB. That should be one of the very last things you do.

thanks for the info. i figured shorties were a waste, but i had to ask. my only concern with getting gears is highway driving, and the cost of installation. im not even going to attempt that since my tools consist of two screw drivers and a hammer. if i get gears do i need to replace the bearings. my car has 44,000 miles. also is there anything else i need to be aware of when getting gears?

It wouldn't hurt it, and many would recommend getting new bearings.
