is it a 5 speed manual or auto? Guessing you mean manual.
This is gonna answer a lot of questions.
First things first do a complete tune-up... spark plugs wires fuel filter oil change air filter... its good for your car reguardless of if it actually needs it.
It doesn't have a lot of power compared to what? Its a 180whp car thats pretty heavy...

i mean it will not go over 60-70mph. its a manual tranny. i can go to about 3500 then it will not run anymore and it misses and pops. i checked things i knew and i think the intake gaskets are bad i sparyed brake cleaner on them and the idea picked up so i shut off the car and some fuel came out from between the head and intake

if its between the intake and head good chance that it is the lower intake gasket.... might as well replace all gaskets to your intake, go to autozone and get some fel-pro gaskets. I know the 99-00? or 01 GTs have coolant crossovers that are plastic and crack, i think the earlier ones did too? However i am not sure. If so you can pick up a 99+ Intake (get one with an aluminum crossover for the coolant) and it will be a direct fit.
So the first step is to find out if the coolant crossover on the intake is cracked, which im betting is. If so get a 99+ intake IIRc they are not too expensive, if not try gaskets.
