Default t-45 sticks in 4th

one night out of the blue I was driving home from work and when I went to shift out of 4th it needed a little more effort to get it out of gear, I had it back in fourth after I made my turn and it didn't do it again that night.

it does it randomly every once and a while, and it just started out of the blue, I don't take the car over 3.5k rpm or dump the clutch or anything. It also isn't grinding gears at all, just the notchyness that's always been there. It doesn't do it in any other gear, and its not hard to get out just needs more of a nudge than the other gears.

I'm also wondering if the squeak that I have when the clutch is engaged is somehow linked? Its a high pitched squeak that started about a month after the clutch was replaced and it happens in all gears including neutral weather its moving or not and it goes away when the clutch is disengaged.

I've owned this car since 6-25-10

believe that squeek is the TOB. it could be related, perhaps your clutch is having problems disengaging but i dunno for sure. i would ASSUME that if it were clutch related more gears than 1 would be affected, but wierder things have happened.

The squeeking noise you are hearing is probably the throwout bearing
and I'm willing to bet that your clutch is failing and it's a clutch related
problem. How many miles do you have on your clutch?
When my Spec Stage 2 clutch disc failed at 5K miles and ended up
purchasing a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch and I couldn't be happier.
My Centerforce clutch is the best clutch I ever had.

I suppose it happens in 4th because that's the one I'm in the most. I thought the synco was going but I think it would do it all the time if it were not randomly, but I could be wrong

this clutch has about 3.5k on it. I don't think there's anything wrong with the clutch.

I read something about the linkage being loose and making a squeak until the slack was taken out here is where I saw it:

You could start with replacing your clutch quadrant, firewall adjuster,
and getting a new Ford OEM clutch cable and the go from there.
Your clutch cable could possibly be too loose.
