If I had one (and I have, and did) I would just do that routinely when replacing the insert.
Yeah that's one of the common problems with the aluminum flywheels.
Two of my friends that had their aluminum flywheels fail were
Spec aluminum flywheels and I don't think it's a coincidence either.
Another Spec product fails.

One more thing...I would like to get ARP flywheel bolts but I am having trouble finding which ones are the correct ones to get.

FRPP sells this kit of bolts which is supposedly for all modular 11" flywheels: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=8457

it's 10 mm X 1.5

But all other sites which sell the ARP bolts for our cars list this one:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ARP-254-2801/

Which are 10 mm X 1.0

Anyone know which size is the correct one for my 04 GT?

Here's the procedure from the shop manual.

They are vital to properly aligning the pressure plate assembly! You WILL have vibration and odd-engagement is they are not used, and I have seen more than one botched installation where they were not.

The gasket was for the passenger side X-pipe to exhaust manifold connection--it came out in pieces and had to be replaced. You may want to pick one up "just-in-case", or just to replace it anyway...
Unless you do like I did and bought the billet steel ram flywheel. I ordered the CF FW, but they were out of stock and I had to get the car back together. No place to put the dowels in the new fw. It works fine without issues, but it took two of us to hang the clutch.

It looks like the ARP might be for the Cobra FW (8 bolts).

Spec's products, like most things made by man, fall into two broad categories; those that work and hold up well, and those that don't.

The problem with Spec specifically is that their stuff which falls into the second category seems to be a dis-proportionally large chunk of the total, much higher than with most manufacturers--there is no way I'd install one of their clutches

(FWIW, these are individual photos of separate failures, accumulated from the web in less than 5 minutes using Google).
