Steering Coupler Issue - Can't Find Part!
Hi all! Lately, my '97 Mustang has been having a problem with tight steering. I brought it to a garage to be checked out and it turns out there's a problem with the steering coupler.
The problem is they can't find the part to fix it! Perhaps one of you could direct me to a website that has it?
These are the notes I typed out as he described to me what they were looking for:
"Steering coupler, steering shaft above the rack and pinion
Far end of shaft near steering column, one that’s tight is close to the rack and pinion"
There are other things wrong with my car that are easy fixes, but no point to getting it done if we can't get this fixed since I can't drive it with tight steering. Any advice or direction I can be pointed in?

Don't know if this helps, however on the 2000+ models this is Ford p/n 3A525, intermediate shaft coupling.
They don't have any particularly good illustration of it, this is about the best:
The other coupling further toward the steering wheel is p/n 3N725.

Yup, steering shaft! That's what he called it this morning when I went in to get the estimate. No clue why he didn't call it that yesterday. Would've been a lot easier for me to find one online, LOL! But he found one, so I don't have to look anymore. Big relief for me because I really want to get my car fixed. In the end, I'm spending more than it's worth, but it has a lot of sentimental value, and that's priceless. I don't intend to ever it her anyway.
