just blew a hose dont know what to do.

Unhappy just blew a hose dont know what to do.

i was driving down a street punched it to about 40 and a hose blew and it sprayed what smelled like anti freeze all over the wind sheild. this liquid was brown with a weird greenish tint to it. the hose is comeing from my firewall down into a another rubber fitting behind the engine block on the passenger sideof the vehicle. i just bought this car about 48 hours ago.. its a 2001 gt

Sounds like the hose that goes to your heater core. If so yes it was antifreeze

ok is that a big problem to fix?? i had my buddys dad check it out and he said that the hose is conected to the back part of my intake manifold? ths hose also had a coroded rubber hse inside of it and it was blown to hell.

Also, check to see if it's the TUBE behind the Water Pump, under the Manifold, in the valley on top of the block.

ok and should i take th car back to the dealership i bougt it from and have them fix it?? i hvent even had the car for three days.

Like always, it depends. What kind of dealer? Some have a 30 day warranty. Some will tell you once it leaves the lot it's yours. Hard to say. I would try for sure. It happened right away, they may help you, or the may have you pay for parts, while they do the labor for free. I'd try.

if it is the intake manifold is that an expensive part? and what replacement manifold would you recomend? if i have to buy the part id rather get a damn good oe so this doesnt happen again. and if its the watr pump how much is the part and what would you buy??

the hose going from the heater core to the rear of the intake manifold is known for splitting and blowing antifreeze all over...thats most likely the culprit..scroll through this thread and ull see a few guys that this has happened to:
