Default Motor is out and apart!

yep, Christmas day and its been one of the most product days i've had to finally work on my car.

got the motor out, and boy is that thing holy busted up. #1 piston looks like a meth addicts brain. # 5 piston suffered some of the fallout from #1 piston going boom. i'll have pictures eventually. passenger side head got banged up a bit - my only real problem with it is that the threads for the spark plugs got chewed up slightly. i could probably fix everything with a timesert and a die grinder but i figure since i got it out why not buy new heads if i can get em cheap?

so... since i've got it out, im about to order a block from MMR. probably gunna go with their end of the year deal on the mod 750.

but for heads, MMR has stock ford racing heads with cams for $900 and ported stage 1's for just under 1300. my question is, how much HP are stock PI heads good until under boost 18-20 lbs and at 6k RPM? are there any upgrades i should consider?

also considering a slew of other upgrades while i got the motor/trans out. ToB, brake pads/rotors, aluminum flywheel, spec stage 3 clutch, sumped fuel tank w/ dual walbro 255 pumps.

oh and has anyone used koni's STR.T struts with coilovers? im thinkin those or strange 10-way adj for a replacement for my QA1's since they're shot.

i would go with a stage III head rather than a ported stage 1. Goodluck with your build. Have you decided motor compression ratio yet?

that was what she made at 5.5 psi, i was pushing 9 psi. i cant find the sheet for it so i didnt post those numbers. at 9 psi she put down 406/442. and at 13 she put down 446/498 (at 4500 rpm, i saw the boost and numbers and told them to cut it before something broke). im suspecting a spiking MBC, and probably a maxed out fuel pump...
