There both pretty much the same , they just make a little bit different sounds .. the X gives like 2 more HP , The H pipe has a deeper sound to it and the X has a little bit of a Raspey sound to it , IMO i would go with the H depening on the exhaust setup you have

If they see you have no cats, then yeah. Also depends on the copper.

Don't forget that the H-pipe stops working above about 3,000 rpms due to exhaust gas speed. It's better for torque at the low end, but falls off after 3K. The x-pipe functions the entire range, but less torque on the low side. The gains are in the power band.

The X pipe is desigened to equalize the pressure between the two banks of the engine, and inside the crossover, it allows the exhaust to take the path of least resistance... so the exhaust is always flowing at peak efficiency. With the H pipe, you will get a deeper tone but it isnt much for performance. You are forcing all the exhaust down one pipe per bank and not giving it any option or relief, so it creates a little more back pressure on the engine and it doesnt flow as freely. I personaly would go with the X and thats what I did on my GT. Im waiting to get the money together for an X on my Cobra now.

the X has a little bit of a Raspey sound to it ,
Everyone that has a H pipe says that about X's. Definitely not true. My Bassani X pipe sounds mean as hell, no raspiness. It depends on what sound you want. Mine is not as loud at idle, but a lot louder at WOT.

I love my BBK x pipe,I have the catted version because it is a federal offence to remove the cats...If the copper is a buttwiper you could be screwed..

It actually all depends on the type of mufflers that will make it raspy or not. If you have baffeled mufflers; IE Flowmasters, then it will be raspy. If you have straight through mufflers such as Magnaflows then it will sound great.
