motor swap nneed help
#4
Yes for the most part it is a direct swap. You can use the stock gt computer and harness as well. When I did the swap I dropped the motor in with a cobra harness and had to re-use mt GT ecu. The cobra ECU that came with the motor wouldn't work so I had to re-use the gt ECU which resulted in two issues, 1. It would not open the IMRC even after cleaning and inspecting them. 2. Obviously had to get the car dyno tuned due to the different settings from 2v to 4v. Other thing to look at is the throttle cable, you need a cobra throttle cable because the GT cable isn't long enough due to the new intake manifold style, this was the hardest peice of the swap for me to locate. If you have any other questions just let me know. Your current exhaust will also work as long as the cobra motor still has the exhaust manfiolds on them, 4v have a rectagler exhaust port style compared to the 2v which is circular, the cobra flywheel is also 8 bolt instead of the 6 bolt gt.
