Default Question about Brembo Grand Turismo Brake Kit

I have a question. I have a 1999 Mustang GT and I purchased a 330x28 Grand Turismo Brake kit from Stang Suspension a few years back and it is time to replace my rotors and brake pads for my kit. I vaguely remember talking to the sales rep and him telling me that this was the same brake kit on 2000 Cobra R. If that is the case I am looking to purchase some cobra R aftermarket or OE rotors and pads. I spoke to SVT tech line and they told me that the Cobra R had 13 inch rotors and that it also had four piston calipers. I spoke to brembo and they told me that replacements from them would cost $211 per rotor per side and a set of pads for both sides would be $137 with shipping and taxes this would roughly be $670.

I spoke to Rockauto they offer a Raybestos pad for $104 and centric rotors for $100 a side for the 2000 Cobra R.The sales rep told me that 330x28 equals 12.99 inches which is essentially 13 inches and that is the size of rotors that they have for the 2000 Cobra R at Rockauto. It is obvious which is the better deal my kit is the same off the 2000 Cobra R. The problem I have is I do not know if this kit is the same exact one that was on the 2000 Cobra R.

I have a 330x28 Grand Turismo Brembo Kit I want to get a cheaper alternative to the brembo rotors and pads. I wonder if any one could attest is this kit was the same one on the 2000 Cobra R. This is the Brembo kit part number for the Cross Drilled Rotor Grand Turismo Kit I have on my car 1M1.9012A. I got this from the Brembo Catalog. I need help please.

ps. 330x28 equals 12.99 inches which is about 13 inches according to the rockauto sales rep. SVT tech line said the cobra R 2000 has four piston caliper kit with 13 inch rotors just like the Brembo Grand Turismo kit on my car.

Thanks for the help in advance guys!

I have a Gran Turismo 13" 4-piston kit on my ride and is indeed identical to the ones found on the 2K Cobra "R". I do not recognize the "330x28" number you have written here, so cannot say if it is the SAME kit I have, but would not worry about it.

As for rotors and pads, the pads are gonna be a bigger deal here, in terms of stopping power. The Brembo pads that came with my brakes were wonderful and equivalent to the Hawk HPS pads I run on them now. Truth be told.... your OEM calipers, rotors with high-performance fluid, SS lines at all four corners and such an upgrade as Hawk, or equivalent pads, will give you 95% of the stopping power as the kit you are about to install. The difference being some better cooling and a stronger caliper.

Take a look at my Brakes upgrade thread (sig) and will tell you all you need to know here.

When I had to replace rotor and pads I went with 14" blanks from brembo and hps cobra r pads.

While you're at it tho, add ss lines to all 4 corners and flush your brake system and put some dot 4+ brake fluid in there.
