I own a pearl white 1992 vr4 with 395hp. It has hks boost controller, stillen downpipe, gutted cats, K&n filter and Phantom autometer gauges. It is fast as hell(hi9gh 12's to lo 13's). But, that said, if his car is not modded and running stock boost, a 99-05 would give it a good run if it's stock. But Mustangs are faster fellas with bolt ons w/ no supercharger. It's a high 13 sec to 14 sec car. So if your car is not stock and turns good times, go for it. If he has upgraded turbo's though, you better have a cam and then some.

BTW on top end, he will have the advantage bc that car cruises at high, high speeds. I've had mine at 150 at only 5k rpms in 5th. There was alot left. And at 150, the weight and awd and aws (all-wheel-steering), is going to keep him stable.

Also Blk stang 96, your car needs to be built more to take him. I would race him to see how bad he beats you. Then you know how much more you need to beat him. But as of right now you will be owned.

even if that kid added a boost controler you can bump that PSI to like 20 without killing the car...and the stock turbos hit full boost at like 2800rpm...even with a roll on you'll still get pulled. i dont know to many people that own a vr4 and didnt have the money to leave it stock, so i'd bet hes not stock. I've seen some of my guys from my old DSM club hit mid 12's with just uppin the boost and exaust. like everyone else says...if its free...go for it.

no boosting over around 14.5 psi on a stock vr-4 will either A) cause you to get some knock B) be completly usless on stock turbos and do absolutly no good C) all of the above

no trying to be a dick but just throwing it out there for you
