I just recently took on the job to change the clutch on my 2001 GT, and I'm almost done but I just cannot seem to get the transmission back in. I've tried everything, but i just cannot line up the shaft in the bell housing with the hole in the clutch plate. I have the shaft inside the pressure plate, but i just cannot seem to line the shaft up to go into the clutch plate. SOMEONE PLEASEEEE HELP ME!!! ANY kind of tips would be much appriciated!!!!

When you put the clutch on and then the pressure plate, did you align the two with the spline alignment tool... or did you just throw the two together? If you aligned it correctly it should slide in like its soaked in Astroglide.

He is exactly right. Sounds like you didn't align it. Pull the tool out your butt , and align it.
