Cold air intakes

If you're do car show stuff then a CAI is cool but for the money you spend and the performance you gain its nto worth it.
I just have a K&N filter on the end of the stock intake tube..same gains.
Id only do a CAI for looks

I have a 2000 gt and don't waste your money. Amsoil or. K&N filter and your done. Pull the silencer off the airbox and you open the filter up to the outside. Exposes more surface area. Buy a tuner and gears. Done deal. They respond well to nitrous

I'd say for my situation, a CAI opens up the exhaust a little. Gets a little louder and throatier(if thats a word, lol). Thats with Flowmasters. Could just be in my head. I would go with gears as for a power adder. Get them professionally installed though. Its an expensive mod but the car pulls way better.

A K&N Replacement Filter?

They are all eye-candy, and nothing more--the OEM intake IS a CAI and a pretty good one at that.
I am making 262/305 rwHP/tq with the stock airbox and tube (silencer intact) and an STP paper filter--save your money for opening up the exhaust (2½" from the manifolds back) and a good premium fuel optimised tune/tuner. Then change out the final drive gears for 3.73 or 4.10 depending on your driving habits...
