Default Need some information about A/C compressor and A/C clutch....

Hi everyone, I have a 2002 Mustang GT. Whenever the car is idling and staying still I can hear a noise coming from my AC compressor area. It sounds like something is rattling in that area, its loud enough to where I can hear it while at a stoplight. The noise happens when the AC is turned off. I am thinking that my AC clutch is going bad. Also whenever the AC is turned on, while driving I can hear a hissing noise coming from the AC compressor. Do I just need a clutch or a whole new AC compressor. And also if I change the AC compressor do I have to get all the other parts for the AC like the ACCUMULATOR / RECEIVER / DESSICANT / DRIER. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

has the car ever been in an accident? that rattling sound might be the clutch plate rubbing on the pulley. to know for sure, check the air gap (the space beteen the clutch plate and the pulley) i don't know the exact measurement but i usually fold a sheet of paper in half to measure it. you should be able to slide the paper in and around the gap with just a little bit of drag
