Default Aluminum Engine

Is it worth the price difference to get an aluminum engine. Its much cheaper to just use my own block for my build but if its worth it i would put out the money. I am just not sure if it is or not and wanted some opinions. If i can save some cash that would be good but if its that big of an advantage i would rather just get it but is it worth the price. THanks

^ because you were so vague, you are incorrect.

-iron blocks can hold more than 800 hp
-not all forged internals can handle 800hp. "forged internals" are not all manufactured to the same specifications. some are capable of withstanding 1000+hp, some are only rated for 600hp.

Question: what's your power goal? Imo, no not worth it, your block is good to a thousand and I don't think that amount of $ is worth the weight difference.

he can pick up a teksid block pretty cheap, 300 easily. 60lbs saved to me is worth 300. but just my .02

I know the DOHC aluminum vs iron is about a 100lbs difference. Making your front end lighter by, lets say 80lbs, is going to to wonders for our nose heavy cars.
