Default RE: fuel pressure

Well... the way I do it is by throwing a rag over the bleed valve located on the front of the passanger side fuel rail and letting it go from there. Some people will tell you that there is a switch located in the trunk to turn the pump off and to press it and then start the engine till it runs out of fuel. Well it doesnt work and dont listen to those morons. There will still be pressure there, just not as much gas... but there will still be gas. If you bleed the system from that valve then it will be safe to remove any lines you need to take off without getting a surprise.

In my contour I would pull the fuel pump fuse and let the engine starve which was recommended by chiltons and haynes manuals and worked fine. This did not work in my Chevy Suburban and I just used the rag method when changing the filter and dropping the tank. I would try the fuse method with the GT. If it kills the engine right away then you'll have to use some rag method maybe?
